Nathan Gilsleider

A native Oklahoman, Nathan grew up in Claremore and attended Claremore Christian School where he graduated in 2005 with scholarship offers in basketball, baseball and soccer. He attended Heseston Junior College on a baseball and basketball scholarship and transferred to Eastern Oklahoma State college the following year on a baseball scholarship. After a shoulder injury prematurely ended his baseball career, Nathan decided to attend Oklahoma State University. Despite never playing football, Nathan made the team as a walk-on and loved being a Cowboy for two years. He was fortunate to intern with the strength and conditioning program following football and then at Michael Johnson Performance in Texas.

Following graduation from Oklahoma State in 2009, Nathan played a sesason of arena pro football for the Tulsa Defenders. In August 2014 he completed his first combine for the US Bobsled Team and placed 2nd in the nation without any formal training or sponsorship. After improving his initial combine scores in 2015, Nathan moved to Lake Placid to train full-time. There, he was named to a sled, as a rookie, and made the USA Bobsled National Team in October 2015.

All of this has prepared him to become an elite athlete and achieve great things. His goal is to use his talents and work ethic to achieve gold on the world stage at the 2018 Winter Olympics. With your support, Nathan believes he can do just that!
